About Me

My photo
Baldcyclist
Started cycling over 20 years ago. First bike as a grown up was a Raleigh Pioneer which was bought second hand.

Got the bug for cycling on that and after 6 months went out and bought a Kona Lavadome mountain bike, soon after I started cycling to work (~16miles each way), and it became obvious that the Kona wasn't the most practical of bikes - realised this after I wore the knobbly tires bald! Still makes me chuckle when I see this on bikes today.

The Kona lasted about a year, after which I moved onto my first road bike, A Raleigh Dyna Tech 405Ti, yes the one stuck together with glue! Rode the 405 for almost 15 years while everyone else was buying MTBs, sweet bike!

Next up was a Giant OCR 0 which although I kept for 4 years didn't do many miles on as I stopped cycling for 3 of those years to deal with some family stuff.

Nowadays I am the perfect example of a MAMIL (middle aged man in lycra). Overweight balding man with a fancy Cervelo Soloist Carbon that never gets above 20 mph!
